Barber-Scotia Thrive
What it Is
A donation-based service project supporting Barber-Scotia College students with three essentials:
Pantry (food security)
Dorm (living & cleaning supplies)
Dignity (Toiletries & Feminine Products)
Who it Supports
Male and female students living on campus including many
student-athletes with limited food-prep resources and dorm-life needs.
When & Where:
● Date: Saturday, October 25, 2025
● Location: Charlotte Marriott City Center, 100 W. Trade St, Charlotte, NC 28202
● Activation: Donation drop-off at the Cluster
(no campus visit)

How It Works
Drop Off
Bring donations to the clearly marked Barber-Scotia Thrive drop-off area at the Cluster
(for registered Western Carolina Cluster attendees only).
Pack
Volunteers will sort & pack items on-site during the Western Carolina Cluster.
Give
Barber-Scotia will accept the consolidated donation at the Cluster; remaining
items are delivered to campus within 72 hours by our Delivery Captain.

What to Bring
Pantry (no-cook/microwave-ready, athlete-friendly):
Protein shakes; tuna/chicken pouches; instant oatmeal cups; ready rice/quinoa cups; mac & cheese cups; low-sodium soups (pull-tab); nut butters; protein/granola bars; trail mix; fruit cups/applesauce; electrolyte packets; bottled water.
Dorm & cleaning essentials:
Twin XL bedding; towel sets; shower caddies; laundry bags/hampers; hangers; surge-protected power strips; detergent pods; dryer sheets; stain-remover pens; disinfecting wipes; multi-surface cleaner; sponges/microfiber cloths; compact broom & dustpan; 13-gallon trash bags.
Dignity & period care (gender-inclusive):
Toothbrush/paste; soap/body wash; shampoo/conditioner; deodorant; lotion; razors/shave cream; nail clippers; lip balm; masks; pads/tampons/liners (various absorbencies); textured-hair care (sulfate-free options, leave-in/curl cream); satin
bonnets; combs/brushes.
Guidelines
Shelf-stable, individually packed; no glass; label common allergens. Donate boxed small appliances for common areas only (microwave, electric kettle, compact fridge, small air fryer), if permitted by campus.
