Greetings Sorors!
Due to the holiday, the December meeting will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 7:00pm. The January meeting will take place as regularly scheduled on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 7:00pm.
The Publicity Committee will consist of four sub committees, and each committee member will be responsible for serving on at least one sub committee.
At this time, four sorors are currently signed up for the 2026 Publicity Committee: Soror Rhoda Waters, Soror Pat Woods, Soror Aurielle Lowery, and Soror Pamela Gray. As a courtesy, members of the 2025 Publicity Committee are also included, as some may not yet have completed the new LUO Committee Sign Up Sheet. Effective January 1, 2026, committee membership will be based on the sorors who submitted their names on the new 2026 LUO Committee Sign Up Sheet.
In preparation for the LUO Committee Fair following the January 10, 2026 chapter meeting, and to better engage our sorors by connecting them with committees aligned to their talents, interests, and passions, the Publicity Committee has been organized into four focused sub committees.
Publicity Committee Vision
Our vision for 2026 is a well-staffed, proactive Publicity Committee that operates with clarity, accountability, and excellence. With adequate support in each sub-committee, we will strengthen LUO’s public presence, improve consistency across all communications, and ensure the chapter’s impactful work is professionally documented, celebrated, and preserved.
What the Publicity Committee Represents
The Publicity Committee is the voice, image, and historical record of Lambda Upsilon Omega. We are responsible for telling the chapter’s story with accuracy, consistency, and pride. Through strategic communication, visual branding, and timely reporting, we ensure that the work of the chapter is visible, valued, and aligned with the mission and standards of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Our committee safeguards how LUO is seen by members, the community, the region, and the organization at large.
The Impact Our Committee Has on LUO’s Success
The Publicity Committee directly supports LUO’s success by increasing awareness of chapter programs, service initiatives, and leadership. Effective publicity strengthens engagement, enhances reputation, and ensures compliance with reporting requirements such as Ivy Leaf submissions and regional communications. When the chapter’s work is clearly documented and professionally shared, it amplifies impact, attracts partnerships, supports fundraising and service goals, and preserves our legacy for future generations.
Our Needs and Vision for 2026
For 2026, the Publicity Committee envisions a structured, collaborative approach that allows us to consistently and effectively tell the story of Lambda Upsilon Omega. To achieve this, the committee will be organized into four dedicated sub committees, each with a clear focus and defined support needs: Newsletter, Social Media, Photography, and Program Flyers.
To operate efficiently and meet chapter, regional, and organizational standards, the following minimum staffing is needed:
Newsletter Sub Committee

Social Media Sub Committee
